Doctor Laurie is a man of many talents, starting his working life as a high school teacher. His first appointment was at Trinity Bay High School.
Laurie then went on to complete dentistry, then orthodontics as a mature age student and has created beautiful smiles for patients over many years.
Dr Laurie has aimed at retiring over a number of years however his knowledge and expertise is highly sort after and he still enjoys being hands on.
We have the pleasure of having Dr Laurie working in Cairns on the days that Dr Rhonda is at our branch practices
Helen is one of our multi-skilled dental professionals who is qualified in both dental therapy and dental hygiene. She provides a wide range of dental care, but mostly sees herself as an educator and motivator with an important role in the promotion of oral health for our patients. Helen inspires confidence in patients and encourages a positive attitude to oral health. She enjoys meeting new patients and their families every day. Helen’s great interpersonal skills mixed with a super sense of fun make her a great asset to our team!
Helen loves music, though she can’t play an instrument or hold a tune! She loves listening to music and going to concerts with her husband, including Aussie bands and international acts, and even a little country now and then!
Tui is one of our Oral Heath Therapist’s working along side of Dr Rhonda in producing a variety of orthodontic care. Tui loves to focuses on producing gentle care to all patients. Tui joined our team in January 2015 and has had a baby girl since. In Tui’s free time she loves to go camping attends gym and yoga and most of all spends time with her family and friends.
Danielle Parkinson studied a Bachelor of Oral Health and Dental Therapy at Griffith University on the Gold Coast.
Danielle is passionate about working with young people and puts the care of her patients at the forefront of her work. Danielle enjoys orthodontic work and loves seeing the positive outcomes for the patients. Danielle feels fortunate to be working in a positive environment with a great team of people.
Danielle and her young family enjoy mountain bike riding and her young children are learning BMX riding. During the winter they look forward to a ski trip together.
Leissa studied to be a hygienist in Adelaide and has been with our team since 2015. Leissa works in our practice as a Hygienist assisting Dr Rhonda and team with all things orthodontics. Leissa has also had great experience in general dentistry.
Leissa is a born and bredlocal and enjoys jet setting on holidays.
Danita works between both the surgery and at reception. She makes it her goal to make our patients and their family feel welcome as soon as they step into the practice. Danita also assists Dr. Rhonda in making sure the patients get the perfect customised treatment. Danita enjoys the rewarding aspects of guiding a patient throughout their treatment and seeing patients get their smile back.
At home, Danita enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, two children, two dogs and a cockatiel. She also loves outdoor activities like camping and fishing.
Rani is one of our most senior and long term dental assistants with plenty of dental and orthodontic knowledge. Rani enjoys working with all our staff and watching every patient enjoy their beautiful new smile whilst bringing in some humour into our practice. Rani is currently working part time to enjoy motherhood with her new son Liam.
Kym is the happy smiling face you see at our Atherton branch. Kym has been in the dental industry for 27 years. Kym works part time as she keeps herself very busy with her 4 daughters, husband and local volunteering.
Wendy, originally from the Burdekin is our Innisfail branch receptionist. She joined us in Oct 2015 and is enjoying the fast paced world of orthodontics. Wendy also enjoys cooking and sharing her home made goodies with the staff.
Jaime is originally from the Atherton tablelands and is one of our fulltime dental assistants. Jaime enjoys assisting Dr Rhonda and the Oral health therapist to help createour beautifully straight smiles .Her young and bubbly personality is a breath of fresh air to our team.
Jaime has a passion for BMX riding in her spare time.
Kym is also Jaime’s mother who is our Atherton receptionist
Ashton is one of our full time Dental assistants and works with Dr Rhonda and the team. Ashton has had experience in both dental and orthodontic practices. Ashton enjoys her spare time at the football and going to concerts and holidays.
Kaila is the youngest member on our team. She assists mainly at the back of the surgery, making sure the instruments are sterilised and ready for us to use in the clinic. Amongst her busy schedule of school and work, Kaila enjoys catching up with friends.
Harrison joined the team on the 27th May 2011, however; it may be a few years yet before he is ready for any treatment. Harrison enjoys going to his swimming lessons and visiting our patients at the practice.
Zoe creates many of the custom orthodontic appliances that straighten teeth, retainers to keep teeth straight, and mouthguards to keep teeth where they should be! We’ve enjoyed her smiling face since 1999, though she’s been working in orthodontics for over 35 years. Because our patients’ appliances are all customized, Zoe loves seeing the designs our patients come up with, especially the glow in the dark appliances!
Craig’s job is to ensure the smooth running of the business. He is our go to man for repairs and maintenance. Like Rhonda he is heavily involved in sport and supports Rhonda and all the team members in making nq ortho a great practice!
Rhonda takes care of the financial aspects of our patients’ orthodontic treatment. She has worked in dentistry since 1963 as a dental nurse and joined the Coyne orthodontic family in 1995. When she’s not in the office, Rhonda loves relaxing in her garden and enjoys reading books.
Sam is now behind the scenes keeping up to date with the technical component.
Sam enjoys playing games, whether that’s sports games, party games, computer games or board games. A fun night in for her would be playing Cranium with friends and family; that’s when the gloves come off and she gets down to business!
