Amy is our main receptionist, she is the first smiling face you will see when you visit our Cairns practice and one of the voices at the other end of the phone. As well as multitasking her many duties such as greeting patients, answering calls and making appointments, she is also involved in organising contracts for our patients who are ready to start their orthodontic treatment.
Originally from Brisbane, Amy moved to Cairns with her partner. She joined our team with no previous experience in the dental field! She is a quick learner, so most patients think she has been a dental receptionist for a long time!
In Amy’s spare time she loves to go hiking and exploring around Cairns and regularly visits the beach. Having fun with her friends is a must! She is also a bit of a self-confessed foodie and loves to try new restaurants and cafes!
Kym is the backbone of our Atherton practice, she is based there full time so she is a very familiar face to our Tablelands patients as she greets them at check in, makes their next appointments before they leave and processes their contracts and payments. When we aren’t seeing patients at our Atherton practice Kym is busy on the phones; answering all of our patients’ calls and enquiries and also following up those that need appointments made.
Having general dental background of 27 years as a Dental Assistant made the change to orthodontics a breeze for Kym! The knowledge she has accumulated over the years enables her to have insight to almost all concerns a patient may be faced with; which is what makes her a very helpful receptionist.
When Kym is at home she like to spend her time with her family. Even with her two eldest daughters now moved out of home she is still kept busy with her two younger daughters! As a Tablelands local, she loves to be involved in the Kairi community.
Emma is based in our Innisfail practice, when we are seeing patients in Innisfail is on hand at reception to greet our patients and help make their next appointments. She also helps out with most reception duties such as answering calls and confirming patients’ appointments.

Once she is at home, Emma loves to spend time with her family and friends. She is usually outdoors as living in Innisfail comes with the added perk of being close to both the beaches and creeks for swimming, camping and fishing.
Ashton is one of our Treatment Co-Ordinators, you will mostly find her meeting with our New Patients. Along with taking photo records, carrying out 3D scans of the teeth and discussing what results the patient would like to achieve from their orthodontic treatment, she gathers all the information needed for Dr Rhonda to make a treatment plan and is there to assist our patients in making the right decision on what treatment is best for them!
As a qualified Certificate IV Dental Assistant with over 8 years of experience in general dentistry and orthodontics in Innisfail and Cairns, she is always on hand to jump in and help Dr Rhonda and the team wherever needed whether it be chairside, sterilising or reception.
Outside of the practice, Ashton enjoys getting out and about! She loves travelling and photography, attending concerts and NRL matches, eating great food and spending time with her friends.
Jaime is our head Dental Assistant, you will find her chairside assisting Dr Rhonda and our Therapists with all your appointments from the day you start your treatment to your very last visit and everything between! As head DA, she is also responsible for overseeing everything back of house and ensuring we are organised for a smooth running day.
Starting her traineeship with us as a shy high school student working one day a week in our Atherton practice, Jaime is now a qualified and confident Certificate III Dental Assistant. A true country kid at heart, she now calls Cairns home as she works full time based at our Cairns practice.
As soon as the working day is done, Jaime trades in her safety glasses and mask for her BMX helmet! She is always hitting the track either training or competing as high as national level, she also coaches on a weekly basis. Away from BMX, Jaime loves to be outdoors and can’t pass up a good chicken parmy.
Shania is our junior Dental Assistant, she is involved in all the clinical aspects of the practice from sterilising to chairside. You will see her in the clinic helping Dr Rhonda and our Therapists in all three of our practices.

Zoe creates many of the custom orthodontic appliances that straighten teeth, retainers to keep teeth straight, and mouthguards to keep teeth where they should be! We’ve enjoyed her smiling face since 1999, though she’s been working in orthodontics for over 35 years. Because our patients’ appliances are all customized, Zoe loves seeing the designs our patients come up with, especially the glow in the dark appliances!
Craig’s job is to ensure the smooth running of the business. He is our go to man for repairs and maintenance. Like Rhonda he is heavily involved in sport and supports Rhonda and all the team members in making nq ortho a great practice!
